The Arts Intern will work with Intercultural Theatre Institute, a unique organisation dedicated to actor training, fostering human understanding, and promoting social and cultural awareness. The role provides opportunities to support areas such as marketing, audience engagement, administrative tasks, and production-related activities, depending on project needs and the intern’s interests.

This internship offers hands-on exposure to Singapore’s performing arts scene, giving interns insight into how performances and showcases are prepared, promoted, and shared with audiences. Interns will collaborate with ITI students as well as established professional practitioners and contribute meaningfully to training initiatives, performances, and arts projects. Structured as a guided learning experience, interns receive supervision and support throughout the placement and are encouraged to reflect on their professional growth and develop practical skills relevant to arts management, performing arts training, and production support.

Duties & Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to):

Marketing & Publicity Support

  • Assist with marketing campaigns and promotional materials (posters, programmes, digital content)
  • Update social media channels and maintain mailing lists
  • Support audience engagement activities
  • Conduct basic research or administrative support for marketing initiatives

Production & Administrative Support

  • Provide administrative and/or production support during rehearsals, showcases, or performances
  • Support set-up, strike, and front/back-of-house duties
  • Assist director with archiving and/or transcribing of rehearsals

(Duties will be assigned according to project requirements and learning objectives. Interns will not be expected to manage projects independently.)

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old and above
  • Minimum qualification: ITE, Diploma, "O" Levels or equivalent; students and recent graduates welcome
  • Organised, responsible, and detail-oriented
  • Willingness to learn and work collaboratively
  • Good communication and basic English writing skills
  • Comfortable using common digital tools (e.g., email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Interest in performing arts, theatre, or live events
  • Prior experience with arts organisations or marketing materials is an advantage

Period Required: 2026 — Ongoing intake throughout the year
Flexible start dates; typical duration 6–22 weeks, arranged to suit both the intern and organisation

Stipend: Yes — S$700 to S$1,000 per month
(Commensurate with experience, scope of responsibilities, and internship duration)
